To the Dark Citadel

The Dark Citadel was situated on an island near the South Sea not too far from Huaxia.
The island was connected to the mainland with a heavily guarded bridge. There was hardly any way to bypass the garrison and smuggle into the island.
More importantly, if one was caught entering the island without permission, there was only one result that awaited—a miserable death.
Qin Feng did not really hide his desire to visit the Dark Citadel. Most of his cadre inside Fengli was informed, and now even Zong Qianli was told. However, Shang Han probably had no idea. She would definitely stop Qin Feng from going if she finds out.
The Dark Citadel was full of unthinkable threats.
Qin Feng did not rest for long. He departed quietly with Bai Li the next night.
It was a clear night. The air was warm and damp.
The sea breeze during this time was different from other seasons.
Bai Li seemed to enjoy such scenery. She relaxed with one hand holding on to the small fox mask on her face.
Qin Feng by her side was wearing the same set of masks. His mask was the shape of a black fox.
They were currently queuing in front of the entrance of the Dark Citadel. The bridge was jam-packed with cars.
The citadel would be bustling with guests around this time every year. Members of the Dark Coalition hidden in Huaxia would tacitly emerge here to join the Dusk Dragon Event.
To most Dark Coalition organizations, the auction was only a side event. They were usually more eager about the appropriation meeting held after that.
If two sides had an unsolvable conflict involving the B-tiers, then they would normally resolve it in this time and place.
Even if the negotiation were to break down, they could come down with the last resort—fight to the death. A problem would no longer be a problem when one of the conflicted parties was dead.
Qin Feng's hovercraft finally reached the gate.
A B5-tier guard stood there at the entrance. With such a reliable guard, even an A-tier could not have forced their way through.
"Which faction are you from?" The person asked and measured both of them.
Qin Feng acted differently from his usual self.
He was emitting B2-tier beast emperor aura. Such an imposing presence posed enormous pressure to anyone facing him.
Besides, he had just slaughtered a large band of criminals in the Amazon Alliance. A blood scent found only on a person who had killed numerous times oozed out from his body. An aptitude user with sharp consciousness could catch it easily.
Hence, the guard was startled when he met eyes with Qin Feng for the first time.
"I am joining on my own." Qin Feng camouflaged his voice into a deeper tone and threw a bag to the guard.
The bag was quite heavy. There were exactly 2, 000 power credits inside.
When Qin Feng entered the City of Death, it only cost him 10, 000 per person. He paid only 20 power credits then and now the entrance fees were a hundred times that.
The Dark Citadel was where the true fighters were found.
"Give me two badges for visitors, " Qin Feng said.
The man took a look inside the bag and could tell that the amount was right. He nodded."Sure. You know the rules in there?"
"Yea." Qin Feng answered straightforwardly.
After that, the person gave Qin Feng two visitor badges. Qin Feng did not put on his B-tier aptitude user badge since it would be an act of provocation. He and Bai Li pinned the visitor badge on their chest.
Their hovercraft was promptly given the green light afterward.
The fees would not be that high if one was entering as a member of a certain faction. More so, some infamous individuals could drive straight in simply by providing their names.
However, on such a unique occasion, there were actually ample members of the Huaxia Alliance attending the auction too. Participants in masks usually belonged to this group.
Though sarcastic, members from the Huaxia Alliance were some of the most generous contributors to the Dusk Dragon Event every year.
Qin Feng's hovercraft sped across the bridge and soon arrived at the well-known Dark Citadel.
This was the paradise of crime, an island second only to hell.
"We have to be careful in the next few days." Qin Feng steered his hovercraft cautiously and stopped in front of a normal hotel. But at such times, even the most unremarkable hotel might have one or two A-tiers living inside. It would be rather unfortunate if one accidentally offended a quick-tempered powerful user during the stay.
Qin Feng was not afraid of anyone but this was, after all, a city entirely under the Dark Coalition's control. The Amazon Alliance was considered a peaceful place when compared to the Dark Citadel.
It would be shocking to find seven A-tiers in the Amazon Alliance but Qin Feng would not be surprised if there were seventy A-tiers around him now.
They asked for a room and settled in without attracting much attention.
Qin Feng connected to the city network with his brand-new communicator and checked the latest information on it.
[The Dusk Dragon Auction would be held two days from now. ]
[The first round of auction offers ten god weapons and S-tier items. ]
[The Dusk Dragon Party has already begun!]
[In seven days, the spatial waymark to Hell Island would be opened. The tickets are on sale now. ]
Qin Feng's eyes were fixated on the last line.
Hell Island was the most attractive place in this Dark Citadel.
It was a stable dimension and would open at a fixed time every year. The dimension had gone on for more than ten years. The beasts there were perilous, with B-tier beast kings and beast emperors the most frequent occurrences.
For that reason, it served as the perfect place to hunt for B-tier beast cores for Bai Li's consumption.
At the same time, Qin Feng would progress quickly there too.
It killed two birds with one stone.
Qin Feng bought the ticket without any hesitation. The ticket price was ludicrous with each selling at 100 million power credits.
Without question, this price was set for A-tiers. B-tier ability users were free to buy it too but nobody would collect their body if they were killed there.
Of course, an A-tier was allowed to bring 10 companions inside. As such, a lot of B-tiers would like to test their luck and hop on. They would be charged less at 10 million power credits going in with an A-tier. This pricing was similar to what Qin Feng charged for the Cinderclast Dimension.
The ticket was directly linked to the communicator. If the owner of the communicator were killed, his or her communicator could be used by someone else to enter the island.
Thus, those who were unable to fork out the money would try to steal or rob the communicator, which led to battles of different scales inside the city.
Qin Feng did not want any trouble so he did not step out of the hotel in the next two days.
Despite staying in, he remained alert with the development and news around the city.
On the third day after his arrival, the Dusk Dragon Auction had officially begun.
