After only a few minutes, Lex could not take the speed and provided everyone with the Windspeed spell.

The magic she used was Grade 3, and after applying it to each and every one of them, they barely needed to expend any energy to move. Saleen lifted his leg lightly and could travel over five meters in a single second. A normal person would have walked five kilometers in an hour, but they were walking at a rate of almost twenty kilometers per hour.

Lex was a Grade 5 grand mage, and adding a Grade 3 magic for six people had not been a burden for her whatsoever. The Windspeed spell could only last for thirty minutes. With the quality of Lex's equipment, even without meditation, she would naturally regain her magic chords during those thirty minutes.

Saleen felt wind elements flowing across his entire body. As long as he made the action of walking, the currents formed from those wind elements would push him forward. As Saleen hurried along, he took the time to experience the effects and laws of the wind elements.

The complexity of this support magic was relative high, and after continuously analyzing it for over three hours, he could only determine around twenty percent of the principle behind this Grade 3 Windspeed spell. Saleen was very satisfied. If he could calculate it completely, he would be able to use Water Magic to replicate the Grade 3 Windspeed spell.

Once he was able to replicate it, the Grade 4 and Grade 5 Windspeed skill could be calculated accordingly.

Saleen was not very concerned about this, but was instead concerned about Grade 6 flying magic. When a mage reached Grade 5, they could make use of higher-grade equipment to fly. Once they reached Grade 6, they would be able to learn flying magic.

Saleen could not control wind elements and would not be able to learn flying magic. However, he would be able to replicate it with water-based magic. So long as it was a place with water elements, he would be able to evaporate them to replicate Wind Magic. Using the same theory, by freezing Water Magic, he could attain the same effects as Ground Magic.

Being able to fly in the skies would greatly increase the chances of a mage's survival. Unless one had arranged a trap, it would be difficult to kill a Grade 6 mage. Although many mages released their magic on land for the sake of safety, when a person was in possession of strong magic equipment, it was not impossible to release magic while flying.

For example, since Lex had received her colorful magic robes, the elements around her had been unusually stable while she was flying and did not affect her release of magic at all. Saleen had a set of demon equipment that worked in a similar fashion.

Every five kilometers Lex travelled, she left a coordinate to prevent them from going off course. Without any objects around for reference, it was easier to get lost on a plain compared to a forest.

The scenery became richer as they travelled and the terrain became bumpier as more plants appeared. These plants had a special characteristic to them, not having any shades of green.

Saleen and Lex understood that since the interdimensional space had no sun, the colors of these plants were perfectly normal. Nailisi was from the demon universe and had seen stranger looking plants. Most of the plants there consumed meat. Saleen was a tough person, and so long as the plants did not attack her, she would not have minded even if they ran around. The most nervous of the group were the two swordmasters at the back.

If it were close combat, these two middle-grade swordmasters had combat abilities similar to those of a Grade 4 mage. Even though their sword auras could not leave their body, their destructive strengths were fairly horrifying. If the weapon was tough enough, a Grade 3 magic shield would not be able to stop an attack from a middle-grade swordmaster.

The terrain grew higher, and in this interdimensional space, there were none of the tall trees found in the Myers Mainland. The dark blue and purple plants had no lush crowns to speak of, and they looked like hundreds of thick vines coiling around each other.

Lex stopped and one of the swordmasters took a crossbow from his back. Loading a standard arrow, he fired it at a thirty meter tall plant.

Even after a while, there were no signs of retaliation from the giant plant and the swordmaster heaved a sigh of relief. The arrow that had been shot into the branches came falling down onto the ground. A tiny hole could be seen on the arrow, and a dark red liquid was seeping out from within it. This plant had such corrosive powers that a pure metal arrow could be corroded away just by being inside of it for a short while. If this liquid was able to be shot out, it would be more powerful than the acid rain cast by mages.

The trees up ahead were lusher, and evidently, the "trees" in this interdimensional space were dangerous. They had walked over eighty kilometers and the terrain here was different. There were slopes and giant rocks, and even a mountain range in the distance.

"Get some rest, " Lex sighed. She did not dare dash into the "forest" like this. Every kind of plant in this interdimensional space was extremely strange and was evidently different from the living things on the Myers Mainland. Whatever prior knowledge they had was useless, so a mage's advantages were severely weakened here.

After much examination using magic, Lex chose a ridge between two large rocks to set up camp in. This ridge was narrow and the entrance was only around half a meter wide. The interior gradually grew wider and was over ten meters wide inside. The other exit was tilted upwards and gradually became smaller, being around two meters wide.

The two swordmasters cleared the ground while Lex brought out a tent from within her ring, having the swordmasters settle down. She began to place magic arrays at the entrance of the ridge. Having already placed simple magic arrays on the two sides of the rock, what surprised Saleen was that she had designed troughs on these two simple magic arrays for her to put gemstones inside.

After setting up the entrance, Lex walked to the other end of the ridge and released Ground Magic: Stone Steps. A large stairway appeared on the steep floor. Lex stood on the stairway and started setting up magic arrays at the other exit.

Saleen felt fortunate to be in the company of a Grade 5 mage. The ridge had been made incredibly safe by Lex. Even if other living things like the giant mosquitoes were to attack them now, with the terrain, even the two swordmasters would not be in much danger.

After setting up the two exits with magic arrays, Lex returned to the tent and took a glance above them. At the top of the ridge, the two rocks at the side had closed together, leaving a small gap.

Lex flew up with a great deal of effort, the colors on her robe shimmering. She stopped after ascending five meters above the others and took out two metal disks, inlaying them on the two sides of the stone walls. These two metal disks had solid magic arrays on them, each with six magic nuclei inlaid.

The magic arrays were rapidly activated and a thin black curtain enveloped the surrounding space of the tent. From within, they could see everything clearly. However, from the outside, all one could see was darkness.

Lex's actions were a classic example of a true mage. In a foreign place, mages were unusually cautious.

After setting everything up, Lex called everyone into the tent. She brought out blankets and gave them to everyone. The temperature in this interdimensional space was not high, and they had not noticed it while they had been hurrying along. However, once they had stopped, the chilly air had seeped up from the ground and silently invaded their bodies.

Lex's tent had evidently been crafted with alchemy, and the temperature within was slightly higher. Everyone covered themselves with their blankets and could no longer feel the chill. They sat around Lex as she said, "We'll need to live in this place for at least a year. Let's get to know each other. Saleen, tell us what you've brought that can be of some use."

The two swordmasters introduced themselves. One of them was known as Holzer, while the other was known as Baimeng. They were both mid-grade swordmasters and had a great deal of experience surviving in the wild. They had spent many years travelling between the four countries. Holzer was also skilled in archery. Baimeng was not from the Qin Empire, and half of his ancestry was from the Cloudflow Empire. In addition to the spear, he was skilled in daggers and underwater combat.

Lex spoke of her abilities. She was a grade 5 mage that was about to promote to a Grade 6 mage at any time. She had mastered one hundred and eighty four spells that were Grade 5 and below. She was skilled in alchemy, magic arrays, magic medicine, and puppet magic, and she knew some death spells as well. However, she possessed magic chords and hence could not learn death magic.

Aside from the set of magic equipment she was wearing, she had a large amount of resources in the god's ring that the Qin Emperor had prepared for her. Equipping tens of thousands of troops would not be a problem. The ring that Joey had given her had a large amount of magic ingredients and high-grade magic nuclei as well. Gold coins were useless in the interdimensional space and would have only been a burden. What comforted the others the most was that she had brought along a large number of rations as well.

Mages could create restorative water to drink, and since there were only six of them, water would not be a problem. What they were worried about was food. If it was not for the fact that the Qin Emperor had wanted Lex to build a new county and had given her countless army supplies, they would have been worrying about food by now.

"I am trained in close combat, " Nailisi said simply.

"Cascausus warrior." Sika's words were even simpler. Her cudgel was resting on her knees. The two swordmasters glanced at each other. Even though they could not feel a sword aura from Sika, her cudgel still sent chills down their spines.

Sika was not in a good mood either. The weapon she had with her had been created by Faerun, and now that he was dead, she was sad. This was the purest feeling possible. Saleen had treated Faerun as his teacher, while Sika had taken him for a village elder.

In the Cascausus region, a village elder was like the protector of the village. They were like everyone's father, protecting everything within the village.

When it became Saleen's turn to introduce himself, he thought for a while before saying, "I am a Grade 2 mage that will promote to Grade 3 at any time now. I can only use Water Magic, and with a suitable magic nucleus, I can recover my magic chords within half an hour. I know basic magic medicine and with me is enough food to feed one hundred people for a month."

Before Saleen could finish speaking, the earth began to shake and everyone in the tent was nearly thrown off of their feet. Lex was the first to leave the tent. Beneath the darkness, everyone looked out at the gap outside of the ridge. The once grey interdimensional space had turned a dark red. This red grew brighter, and following it was a low booming sound that came from afar, almost as if two mountains had crashed into each other. The ground shook even more vigorously.

Volcano!

Lex activated the magic arrays on the stone walls without hesitation and crystal-like walls appeared at the exits, almost two meters thick.

It was a Grade 6 restorative spell: Crystal City. It was known as the most powerful ground type defensive magic and could even withstand a Grade 9 attack. The activation of these magic arrays had cost Lex two high-grade gemstones.
